Axis opened in Canberra's CBD in 1991, founded on a simple, uncompromising philosophy: exceptional hair begins with exceptional people, accompanied by down-to-earth, attentive customer service. From day one it was committed to a standard of craft and care that quickly made it one of the city's most recognised salons — the kind of hands-on, human artistry that stays AI-proof, no matter how the world changes.

Adam Ciaccia started his hairdressing journey in 1999, became a partner in 2008 and in 2012 purchased majority ownership — bringing the bold, creative, award-winning vision and education focus that turned Axis into one of the most decorated salons in the ACT.

Our home

The Grounds, Braddon

In 2023 we reopened as Axis Salon at The Grounds in Braddon — a space we designed ourselves, for us: open, light-filled, and purpose-built as both a world-class salon and an education space. A 5-star environment where standards are high and egos are not.

What keeps clients coming back isn't only the result. It's that we listen, we're honest about what will suit you, and the welcome is as good as the work.
